About Me

Jaedah Kelise Davis

I chose journalism because of the many paths it offers and the skills that can take you anywhere. Coming to Florida A&M University was a big step for me. After graduating from a predominantly white high school, I was nervous about being far from home and unsure of how I would stand out, or even what direction I wanted to take.

My freshman year was all about finding my footing, but everything changed sophomore year when I joined WANM 90.5, The Flava Station. As Jaedah Kelise, host of The Kickback, I discovered my voice and fell in love with being on-air. That experience showed me this was more than an interest—it was something I truly wanted to pursue.

From there, I expanded into writing with Journey Magazine, becoming a staff writer in my junior year. Around the same time, I became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and co-created my podcast, Remix & Rewind, where I’ve been able to combine my love for music with meaningful conversation and community.

Now, as a senior, I serve as one of two producers for the FAMU TV20 newscast. This role has strengthened my leadership skills and given me hands-on experience across all aspects of journalism. Producing has become a true passion and confirmed that I’ve found my place in this field.

As I prepare for graduate school, I’m grateful for every experience that has shaped me and excited to continue telling stories that reflect culture, community, and the voices that deserve to be heard.
